A quick look
Aviva’s key market strategy was to adopt a digital-first approach. Unfortunately, their insurance application forms didn’t quite match up. This is a short story of a digital transformation journey for one of Singapore’s leading multinational insurers.
How to transform hardcopy application forms into an online acquisition journey?
We started with step-by-step high-fidelity wireframes of our users’ online “quote-and-buy” application journey. The team tested UI/UX considerations thoroughly - going through multiple iterations of user scenario testings and refinements before proceeding into coloured mockups.
When the wireframes were signed-off, our inhouse designers worked closely with Aviva’s marketing team. This helped our designers understand the client’s concerns as well as adhere to Aviva’s global design systems. This cycle of consultation, feedback, and approval, took place concurrently with the production of coloured mockups in order for the project to run efficiently.
On the web development end, our engineers commenced front-end development by coding in Angular JS as we recommended. The Angular JS framework is one of the most versatile frameworks available today. It helped us easily build a client-side framework that supported multiple platforms. Our backend developers also took the client’s proprietary Aviva Framework into account when proceeding with the integration of backend APIs provided by the client’s IT department.
Our well thought out UI/UX considerations helped us identify usability issues. Ultimately, we successfully helped Aviva’s consumers make a smooth transition from filling out hardcopy application forms to an online experience that simplified data input and collection.
